Risk Production Diary

27 September 2008 | End of the first rehearsal week

Rehearsal week one done and dusted.

We covered: general discussion with the actors on the play, thrillers as a genre, the pine plantations as both place and myth.

22 September 2008 | Electric Benny

Monday. I haven’t spoken to Anthony. I’ve had several conversations with his agent. Nice people. This is a difficult situation, all around.

21 September 2008 | The first read

Sunday. First read – great to hear the whole thing through with the actors and crew around the table.

14 September 2008 | Game on!

One week out from the beginning of rehearsals – some major shifts:

7 September 2008 | Scheduling Hell

Two weeks out – one of our cast members needs to leave the Sunday read early – for a video shoot. ARRGH again.

28 August 2008 | A game of snakes and ladders

Three weeks out from rehearsals. Brisbane Powerhouse have been brilliant in accommodating our rehearsal schedule needs.

15 August 2008 | A Series of Small Steps ...

Five weeks out from rehearsals: producing is a series of small, small steps – possibly forward, possibly not –

17 July 2008 | Arts Queensland Funding!

We hear that our application for Arts Queensland funding has been successful – fantastic!

This will allow us to pay people some money – guaranteed.

8 July 2008 | Evening: Production Meeting

Rushed back to the house at 4 pm, baked pear tarts and cooked bolognaise sauce – feeding the creatives tonight, 6 pm.

8 July 2008 | Auditions Day 3

Sunday - call-backs with the final cast. We worked a scene all Sunday morning – Liminee’s arrival in the pine forest.
